70年代在香港學習中國舞，80年代為第一代專業舞者，曾於香港舞蹈團擔任多部舞劇主角。90年代為獨立編舞、教師、舞者及策劃，其創作曾於Tanztheatre Wuppertal Pina Bausch 25及35週年節、法國Lyon舞蹈雙年展、威尼斯舞蹈雙年展、東京舞蹈雙年展，以及紐約、哥本哈根、英國、巴黎及北京等地演出，作品風格遊走於傳統與現代。梅氏兩度獲亞洲文化協會獎學金，到美國學習現代舞。曾獲香港舞蹈聯盟頒發四屆「香港舞蹈年奬」，並於2012年獲頒「傑出成就獎」。2001年獲慧妍雅集選為「傑出女士」。
